3-D SIMULATION OF YOUR OWN BREAST
Using the 3-D simulation, for each patient it gets simple to demonstrate and explain what changes of the breast she is trying to achieve. By using this software, all possible sizes and shapes can be shown and discussed on the patient’s own body. The result looks like real before and after images of a breast enlargement. You can see in 3-D which size and shape you like and which fits to your body.
By visualizing the desired result, it is much easier to tell your doctor exactly what you expect from your breast surgery. For the surgeon it is a valuable information to plan the breast augmentation according to the patient’s expectations. The 3-D simulation gives our patients the opportunity to compare their own expectations with the simulated operation result, as in before and after photos. If your personal expectations do not correspond to the simulated result, your conception can be revised or the operation planning can be adapted to the desired goal as far as possible before the operation. A simulated surgical result can be changed and corrected at any time.
BEFORE-AFTER PHOTOS IN 3-D
In the AARE KLINIK we use the 3-D simulation of Crisalix to support our patients in the right choice of breast implants. Thanks to the precise shape and size analysis of the body, breast augmentation can be better planned. The breasts of most women are more or less asymmetrical. A 3-D analysis helps to visualize and measure this asymmetry in order to compensate it in the breast surgery.
In the Crisalix database, breast implants from all leading manufacturers of round and anatomical breast implants are stored. All of them can be used for simulation. The 3-D simulation of a breast enlargement with different implants can help you to select the most suitable breast implant for you. Unlike surgery, simulated breast augmentation can also be undone and corrected.
THE 3-D SIMULATION BY CRISALIX
The software allows us to simulate prior to the surgery, how the anatomical structure of the breast and typical scarring will look afterwards. This helps to get a better picture of the anatomy and surgery. In the visual world of plastic and aesthetic surgery, images often say more than words. In the AARE KLINIK, 3-D simulation is therefore used as a didactic aid, such as before-and-after images in the consultation for a breast surgery.
- The examination begins with a precise image of the breast with a special 3-D camera.
- In the next step, several orientation points are marked and a realistic 3-D image is then generated.
- The desired breast correction can then be carried out virtually on this image and the surgical result can be simulated.
THE 3-D SIMULATION AND CONVENTIONAL BEFORE-AFTER PHOTOS
In comparison to conventional before and after photography as 2-D digital photography, the 3-D simulation enables a realistic representation with stepless view of the breast from all sides in rest and movement as well as in clothed and unclothed condition. Before and after photos of other patients can only be exemplary due to the individual anatomical differences. In contrast, the 3-D simulation allows you to compare images of your own breast before and after treatment. This gives you a much more realistic picture of the expected surgical result. You can also discuss the images of your desired breast with a trusted person before you come to the operation.
In spite of all the advantages, the 3D simulation does not allow a hundred percent anticipation of the final surgical result. Unforeseen events can always occur during an operation, so that the real result may differ from the simulated result. 3-D simulation serves to reduce such unpredictability. However, this technique can only visualize and define the desired treatment outcome to help the physician to better understand the patient’s wishes and create realistic expectations.
